All the cliches are true, the Angkor temples of Cambodia are truly amazing. Yes, Angkor Wat is the jewel in the crown but there are literally dozens of other temples that will prompt your oohs and ahhs and whoas. There are the temples like Ta Prohm (where Tomb Raider was filmed) and Beng Melea that are literally being reconsumed by the jungle. There are the lovely carvings in pink stone in to marvel at in Bateay Srie and and Banteay Samre. There are the impressively tall temples of Baphuon and Pre Rup and Phnom Bakheng. There is the weird Bayon with faces staring at you from every structure, and the delightful elephants adorning a terrace, and the intricate water works of Neak Poan. I could go on and on, but I'll let the photos try and speak for themselves. If anyone is interested in the three day itinerary I carved out (haaaa, pun-tastic), I've listed it at the end!
